Dr. (Mrs.) Kemi Akindele is a 1991 medical graduate. She completed her specialist training in the year 2000 and became an Obstetrician/Gynecologist. She later obtained her master’s degree in public health from University of the Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, in 2007. Dr. Akindele has worked in various places as a medical officer in Nigeria before her specialist training. As a Specialist Obstetrician/Gynaecologist, she has worked in various aspects of women health and public education in Nigeria, Swaziland, South Africa and currently, Alberta, Canada.
Kemi is a teacher of the word with great insight; a trainer, an author and a preacher. She is a ministry gift to the entire body of Christ.
Being an Obstetrician/ Gynecologist, she is passionate about the total wellbeing of women. She has a special burden to make a difference in healthcare of African women through appropriate and sustainable medical care, training and research. She used to host the “Save a Mother” programme on Premier FM 93.5 as part of the fight against maternal mortality in Nigeria. She has authored three mini books till date: ‘For us or against us’, ‘A letter to my little girl’, and ‘A new step in the right direction’ (joint with her husband) and a fourth book titled ‘Family Matters’.
Dr Akindele and her husband are blessed with four children and currently have three grandchildren.
