Marketplace Leadership Development Program (MpLDP)
This initiative is a 12-week cohorts’ course which started in 2022 and is held once or twice a year, depending on available resources. The classes provide teaching sessions on selected skills offered for participants to gain competencies and prepare for relevant micro-credentials. Classes are offered on the platform of The Incubator International, a non-profit organization with focus on skills training. This program has graduated 7 cohorts to date, with testimonials from participants who have improved their lives by applying the skills acquired during their 12-week training sessions and are empowered to work in the Canadian marketplace. Each course is taught by instructors with relevant experience in the field.
The cohort schedules are: 1) April to June, and 2) September to December each year.
You are invited to participate and benefit from this initiative.

The 8week Youth summer coding camp includes web design (HTML and CSS) and Python. The program was held successfully during two previous summers; once it was held in person, and second time it held remotely. The organization currently has some laptops, which are made available to participants that do not have access to personal computers for use during the course. The in-person classes were found to be more impactful on the students. The desire is to host a hybrid session every summer – so those who do not have computers can come in-person, in Edmonton, and other participants will have the opportunity to participate online across provinces. By the end of week 8, every participant will have built and published a responsive landing page they designed themselves and written and demoed a Python program of their own.
The target participants are youth aged 13-17, no prior coding experience required. Priority goes to youth with limited access to technology programs. Participants must be able to read at grade 7 level; English language learners are welcome with a buddy system.
Watch out for the advertisement and register your child to be considered for participation.

Entrepreneurs’ Ideation incubation bootcamp
An annual 12-week ideation boot camp initiative is proposed to help develop 12 successful Black entrepreneurs through collaborative brainstorming/coaching sessions. Participants will be drawn through an open invitation for entrepreneurs with potential business proposals that are clear and promising. The coaching and brainstorming sessions will be facilitated by selected Black entrepreneurs with proven successful records in the marketplace. This initiative is necessitated by feedback received from the Black community and by the obviously limited number of successful Black entrepreneurs in the Canadian business environment. Participants in the 12-week ideation camp will maintain contact and mutual support will continue until every business idea thrives, and a showcase of these 12 participants will be presented during the subsequent year’s ideation camp.
